I agree.
It is easier to lie to yourself vs. admit you fucked up or that something isn't right.

But I know I am not perfect and I need someone [I respect] to tell me when I fucked up, so I don't keep fucking up..
Throwing fits isn't helpful, isn't productive, it degrades the relationship and you won't improve if you don't take some criticism once in a while.
