    I have a little 2000 watt generator that is very quiet.
    You can stand right beside it and carry on a normal conversation.
    It's enough to run a fridge (maybe 2), then unplug it when fridge is cold and the compressor turns off.
    Once it's cold, it'll be okay for awhile.
    Then run a microwave and some lights... you get the idea.
