You getting that Canadian wildfire smoke yet?
It's hazy here already, and supposedly will be all week.
Hardly anything at ground level though... yet.
    Air quality only slightly affected.

I wonder if it'll be anything like two years ago?
We had a few days when you couldn't see High Rock from the valley floor.
    And the stench... :bananadead:

It was hazy yesterday for sure. Thought I smelled a little bit of something like a bon fire, but I figure that's just the neighbor down the road day drinking and lighting shit on fire :notsure:

I just turned 58 in early April, so I believe I could theoretically apply in 4 years.

My wife and in-laws are now pushing me to apply for SS permanent disability, since I still haven't had any luck with the job search. While I am pretty much no longer capable of doing any sort of job that would require standing / walking for more than a very few minutes, and I have had Disabled license plates since my spinal cord injury in 2007, I am still 100% able to keep doing desk based work, like I have been doing since 1992. So I seriously do not expect that I would qualify for Disability on that fact alone. Not to mention, that isn't going to pay much at all, so I am not sure if we'd be able to afford a mortgage and a car payment to get my wife another car. But, if I can't find a job really soon, we are going to have to move in with my in-laws, and that will be a very unfair burden on them, so I may have no choice but to apply for Disability this summer anyway.

    Ugh.

And a Good Tuesday Morning to all!!

I was gonna ask you about applying for Disability.
That's one area I don't know much about, but to my limited knowledge, it's best to hold off to age 62.
    If possible.
Then you get the SS that's coming to you, no question.

From the cost of living standpoint, you can't do much better than rural Kentucky.

I won't presume to give you advice.
    Tough situation.
    Good luck :fingerscrossed:

Hmm, Cooper Pro Control, those must be newer to the market. Don't think I've seen those yet. I bet they will serve you well! I guess you'll want my 17's when I get new tires in a year now

Very true, about the general cost of housing here. And if I can either get a job that allows remote working, or disability, we would not have to worry about moving. However..... with the tornado that went through this area on May 16, destroying I believe around 500 homes, rental and house prices have already started rising in anticipation of those newly homeless families possibly wanting to rent/buy right away, rather than wait a few months to have their home rebuilt. A small complex of 12 duplex apartments just completed construction a couple miles from us. My wife looked them up on their web site, I don't know the specs on size, number of beds or baths, but they are renting for $1500 a month :eek::eek: And that was before the tornado. Of course they are brand new..... I'm sure other rentals are going to be a good bit less. Time will tell.

And thank you for thinking of me, I really, really do appreciate the good wishes and support from everyone.

Need to add the old fashioned shoe/foot measuring device. Al Bundy style. I used to know the actual name of the thing, but I can't recall right now.

I have not been to Amsterdam, nor have I had a massage anywhere outside the U.S.. But I have had a few in my time, and no, not the 'Happy Ending' type. Legit professional massages. Every one of those places, you usually get naked. They always say "undress to your level of comfort, and it is always a private, one client at a time room, but who the fuck did not know that it is common to be naked while getting a [professional] massage????

I am definitely a 1911 fan. Do not talk to me about the 2011..... :annoyed: I'll probably buy a Glock one day, just for the hell of it. In .45 ACP. I had always thought the Sigs were a top notch gun, but recently I have been seeing a lot of articles online about they having a lot of failures and unreliability. That a lot of Military and LEO agencies are ditching their Sigs.
