Are you asking for first ever first date?? Or first date with the person I am currently involved with?

Story Time with Tom:

First ever first date. It was 1981, I was 14, she was 13. We met in Music class in Junior high. I played Saxophone, she played flute. After several months, I got up the nerve to ask her out. Our town had traveling Carnivals come to town a few times every year. They were in town, I asked her to go with me. She said Yes, and we went. And no, we never went to "band camp"........

First date with the person I am involved with right now. It was 1988. I had just gotten out of the Army, moved from Los Angeles to northern California (Chico) to go to college. My first apartment was a 4 unit Studio arrangement, where the 4 units all shared a common kitchen. Complex had maybe 50 of these 4 plex units. One of the other guys in my 4 plex was also a student at my school, a couple years ahead of me. One Friday evening while we were cooking our dinners, very soon after the start of the school year, he says "One of my buddies plays in a local band, tonight they are playing the Downtown Plaza in the City park. It's free, you wanna go?" So after we ate, off we went to the plaza. It's a 1 city block square little deal, with a bandstand in the center, and the City of Chico sponsors free concerts every Friday night throughout the summer. So me and my buddy are standing around, enjoying the band, when these two obviously drunk girls come over to us, and start talking to us. They were a bit upset. Seems a couple of significantly older men had been following them around the Plaza, trying to hit on them. So they saw my buddy and I, and asked us to tell these older men that we were the girls' boyfriends. It worked, the older men left. The girls stayed around and we all enjoyed the show. The one that I was more interested in, happened to be visiting from out of town with her friend, who had an older sister who was also a student at the University, and they were there to visit her friends' sister. Fast forward several months, the one I had been getting to know, decided to move up to Chico with me, and we got an apartment for the next few years while I finished my Degree. She decided to go to the local Community College and she got an AA Degree in Social Work. We ended up getting married the summer she graduated, I still had one year to go for my Bachelor's.

Little more to the story.... We got married in 1993. In 1997, she started feeling weird, decided she wanted to be on her own, as she went directly from living at home, to living with me, and she wanted to have her own life, so we split up, divorced in 1999. We remained friendly, and kept in touch over the next many years. We each went on to have other, failed marriages, and in 2016, through coincidence, we ended up both moving back to the same town in northern CA where we had moved after we both graduated from college, after leaving our recent bad marriages, We ended up getting back together, and re-married in 2019. We picked the same Wedding date (May 30) as we used the first time, to make it easier to remember what *our* anniversary date was, between the other marries we had each had.

You know how people in the South are...met my Wife at a Family Reunion...Well..I first met her when I drove over to the Hospital when she was born..she dont remember that though..

Story Time: First (babysitter) date

I had 3 younger brothers, we were all 4 years between. My parents wanted to go out but weren't going to trust ME to take care of the baby. Around 5:30 she shows up and I'm in my white painters' pants and going between the roof and the TV to try and tune the antenna. Apparently the painters' pants were quite flattering of my ass. She was a year older than me. I had seen her at Junior high, but didn't know her.

Around 8 we were sitting on the couch and she started caressing my lips with her thumb. Then she kissed me. We made out until SNL was over and my parents came home. There were many more nights of "babysitting" and I even took her to Junior Prom.

Then she suddenly ghosted me, and when I went by her house (after delivering my newspaper route) her mom told me she was "gone" and then I found out 9 months later she was married with children. I'd never been past 2nd base, so no young Wedes to worry about.
