    Oh damn, I feel that pain. I had to replace my A/C a year ago. 12 K. The unit I had was 10 years old and exactly 1 week past warranty. I was not happy !! I'm still paying for that dang thing .

    Mine is 26 years old. Somehow it's still cooling. Outside unit is looking pretty ragged so it's only a matter of time. I plan to go with a heat pump unit to not use the oil furnace unless it gets really cold. I know you all don't use oil down South. It's ungodly expensive o_O
