Yea for the first time ever the field next door has been holding water since 3:30pm. I've NEVER seen that since moving here in '22

Guess I get to wait a day to see if it seeps through the foundation in the basement in the back. Already moved all the rugs and stuff in case

This has been such a weird year for weather. Never had so much rain since moving here and apparently I have water issues in the basement. I thought it was a sewage backup for the reason why the previous owner re-did the basement, but it looks like water infiltration may have been the actual cause...

 

Always have some latest greatest thang later on .. I added the rdp barrel later on to one of em

 

I've had the creek come up to it's banks 2x this year
I'm close to 20yr, that has only happened once before

There is another 5 vertical feet at least until my septic drain field would be impacted - I'd prefer to not find out what would happen

I go out when it rains real bad - in the rain - and walk around to get an idea of how water moves around my property. Luckily it runs off pretty quick - go "elevation"

 

That’s really weird… as that is a round barn. Those are unique and were German. But Amish are Dutch.

Thats pretty sweet. Main reason why I wished I had gotten the one with the built in comp is we can't add a screw on comp like the RDP. Has to be built into the barrel

I am so surprised my drainfield has held in there this year. It's original 60 year old terra cotta pipe.
