Oh yeah! We spent every summer, up until the last couple years, in Happy Jack. We have very close friends both in Williams and Flagstaff. Jerome, Payson, Prescott, etc are all great areas too. Sedona is beautiful but a huge tourist trap and overly crowded now.

The wife and I are headed up to Heber-Overgaard this weekend to get away for a bit.

That’s what kill the battery, hidden internal shorted circuit.
My FIL had a Thunderbird with a shorted alarm system that drains battery every couple weeks; until one day around 9 pm, he called me that the car is making a weird noise, I removed the cause of the noise by disconnected the alarm system, the battery was working well after the removal.

    Ask and ye shall receive.

    Story time with Tom

Since I have a few "situations", I'll expound on them all, just in case anyone was wondering :)

Employment: So several weeks back, I found, and applied for two postings at a former employer, that sounded a lot like the job I did when I was there. I interviewed with the HR person, and she actually confirmed it is indeed with my former Manager, basically the same job I had done there. She told me he was out on parental leave, but she believed he was due back in a week or so. I have that former Manager as a connection on LinkedIn, and I had already chatted with him about the positions, he had confirmed they were for him, he encouraged me to apply. So, expecting that as a Manager, coming back from parental leave, he was likely to be swamped with issues other than interviewing job applicants, I gave him a couple weeks after HR said he was going to return to the office, and then I pinged him on LinkedIn, told him I had interviewed with HR, and just left it at that, as I don't want to be pushy and piss him off. He got back to me about a week ago now, confirmed he has ben so busy after returning, that he has not yet had time to schedule interviews for those two positions. So, I am still in contention, hopefully will hear about an interview this week sometime.

Health: I think I posted a couple weeks back that after a recent consultation with an Orthopedic surgeon, he told me I am indeed ready for a right hip replacement. I had the left hip "resurfaced" in 2014, after receiving a diagnosis of severe osteoarthritis in both hips, left was the worst at that time, I asked in it could be same procedure for the right hip. Doctor said "No one does resurfacing anymore, too many people were having problems with the metal corroding and causing issues. I used to do that all the time myself 10 years ago, but not any longer. Also, the full joint replacements used today are all ceramic, much harder and wear resistant that the older metal based types." I told the Doctor I also had an upcoming Podiatrist appointment, to find out what happened in my feet earlier this year, when it felt like something snapped in each foot, and I started having all sorts of leg muscle pain. I wanted to hold off on hip surgery until I knew what the feet situation is, and maybe that is the cause of all the muscle and nerve pain (Sciatica), and so maybe I don't absolutely need a new right hip just yet.....

So last week, I went to the Podiatrist. She did X-rays and an exam. Turns out, I literally broke a bone in each foot. First time in my entire life I have ever broken a bone. Doctor said "This is a very common area for breakage (explained why), and the bone almost always grows back together and fully heals on it's own with no intervention needed. Yours are already well on their way to healing, I estimate another 3 months they should both be fully healed. I am impressed, though, I have never seen someone break both feet at [essentially] the same time.". The picture below is not my X-ray, it's a stock Google image, the red line indicates the approximate location of the actual break in my feet, same bone, same location in both feet.

Also, about 2 months ago now, I tripped and fell on the concrete floor of my garage, landed directly on my left hip. Other than a little muscle pain at the time, I hadn't thought much of it, but a week or so later, I started having Sciatica in my left leg. I haven't had that since my spinal fusion and then left hip resurfacing surgeries in 2014.... I didn't think to discuss this with the Ortho surgeon I saw a couple weeks back, but I now seriously thinking the right hip may not be causing me the pain, I may well have seriously screwed up my left hip or pelvis with the fall, and so I am going to go back to the Ortho and have him do X-rays of the left hip and see what he thinks.

There, now. Aren't you glad you asked?? o_O:rofl:

In all seriousness, I truly do appreciate the concern and support from everyone here. I try not to continually post about every little development (good / bad), as I don't want to seem like an attention whore. But when anyone specifically asks, I do not mind sharing.

 both feet at the same time would be horrible. My body aches for you but I'm glad that component is on the mend.

Walking around barefoot can be horrible for your back and sciatica if you don't already have a pair of ugly/comfy house slippers.

:fingerscrossed:good luck on the job front.
