That teal/turquoise color is stunning. Do you know what the specs are for the driveline and frame? If I built one from scratch I'd use an Art Morrison chassis and ls3/lsx driveline. Those interiors have a ton of potential with custom stitching and what not. My grandpa used a have a 56 that was used solely for drag racing in the mid to late 60s. Bright red and hand a pinup painted on the side with a tomato head. It was named "the hot tomato."

Last time I was up there, I hung out with @OneGiraffe for a bit.

Hung out at that lake, too.

Couldn't see the mountains because of the wildfire smoke. Made me sad.

Pictures do not show justice on how beautiful the paint combo is. It’s got an Art Morrison frame. It’s has the the GM Performance crate 350 with fast burn aluminum heads, full roller set up, Sanderson headers, flow master 40’s, edelbrock manifold with a 4 barrel carb. I can’t remember if it’s a 650 or 700 carb. It’s mounted up to a 700r4 transmission with rear disc brakes and a Ford nine inch rear I believe.
About 385 horsepower. It’s no race car but a great cruiser. It’s also got a full custom interior and trunk. That’s all the specs off the top of my head that I know. I like your thinking with a ls3/lsx combo. Your Grandpa was a lucky man to own one. Hot tomato is a great name.
He traded a real nice rare 1968 GTO for the Bel Air. He got a great trade. Older man with $$$ who was sick unfortunately and he got the GTO for his brother.
