I need some advice..... I put a scratch and small dent on tailgate about a month ago. I want to cover the scratch. I found a paint pen and a container with a brush (kinda like what nail polish would be)
Is one better over the other? Which should I get?

Usually the paint pens also come with a brush, I like the pen better. That's just me, tho.

^ Agreed, I like the pen for scratches. The small brush is just too difficult unless you have rock-solid nerves and a perfectly steady hand. I end up leaving so many blobs that the repair looks worse than the scratch.

Same here. My kid's car looks like it has chicken pox from my shaky hands trying to use the brush.

Well I don’t have a steady hand mostly cuz I have no patience. So I just paint pen it and it doesn’t need a clear cover or anything?

I usually use the pen on a fine scratch and the brush on like rock chips.

That's a good question, actually. I've never applied clearcoat over a scratch fix but maybe it's not a bad idea.

Hoping somebody else can chime in on the subject.

Well to be honest with you, I think I’ve only used the clear coat applicator once.0FA7792A-00FF-49F5-B575-196BE39CE2B5.jpg

I edited last post to show all three. I wouldn’t stress about it. If it’s a small scratch I wouldn’t put it on. I just usually forget to go back after the paint dries and do it.
