Yup that ain’t bad, the pen should work fine. You could clear coat it or not, I don’t think it makes much of a difference.

You say you are impatient, my wife has backed out of the garage twice with her Highlander before the garage door was all the way up. I’m like you couldn’t have waited 5 more seconds. Took the whole door out once, and just the bottom panel once. And a trip to the body shop both times.

We used to keep cows out back of the house. One winter day they got out and one was standing in the driveway. The wife opened the door, slammed it in reverse backed out missing the cow (she never even knew it was there.) She stopped to close the door and when she did she looked out the drivers side window and the cow was within 3 feet just looking at her, wife just screamed. Apparently city girls aren’t used to this.

Yup and the rear camera is kinda neat too!

I’ve had my truck almost 2.5 years and I hardly ever look at the backup camera.

 

About the only time I use it is when hooking on to a trailer or wagon.
