    Seriously, to get a coyote with a bow?

    Question:
    How big are the coyotes there?

    I ask because ours are big, extremely shy, and quiet (not yippy like out west).
    (I lived in Laramie, WY for the better part of a year in my mis-spent youth).

    I've seen the ones here from time to time when grouse hunting.
    Never during deer rifle season when I could pop one with confidence.
    Though I've tracked them in light snow a couple times out of curiosity.

    The Game Commission says ours are probably a coyote/wolf hybrid originating in Canada.

    Here in PA, it's the sub species of eastern coyote. They tend to run a little bigger than their western counterparts. A big male can hit 50-55lbs. They are really hell on fawns during the spring. And just like coyotes, I'm an opportunist. Turkey season, trout fishing, archery season, rifle season, flintlock season... one presents a shot, it's going tango uniform.
