@Tacotsubo yep, i’ve barely cracked the surface on the tons of posts on here. it’s my daily at the moment - i usually swap between my taco and mustang. i would love to do offroad stuff to it, but it’s definately not important at the moment. i guess my short term goals for it are lighting.

There are plenty.... look up black headlight mod... instead of doing black, you can use color match. Just don't burn down the house baking the lights .

A lot of people have done that by using projectors and painting the housings to whatever color. Check out the lighting forum. The "sticky" threads are the good ones separated at the top. I got a two-tone look I'm building on my rig. Here are my lights. For an extra couple hundred you can add color changing demon eyes.

@Tacotsubo well i’ve seen videos and read some stuff online and i’ve gathered that i’m not going to lose much visibility as long as i do it correctly. i’ll just paint over the areas that the black housing headlights generally would. idk, it’s just a thought. i don’t want black housing and i’m not a fan of chrome, so i thought colormatching is the next best bet.

It's the cry once buy once thing. Plus I researched the hell out of it and read too much about lesser/cheaper winches giving out and failing in the middle of no where. When I need it, I really need it to work.

also I get to write my truck shit off as a business expense for my side gig.

@Taco-Obsessed absolutely love your truck and custom light setup. in my situation, would you recommend buying stock housings to break open and paint or buy already blacked out housings to paint?

    thanks man.

So you are not scared of taking your lights off, putting them in oven to open them up, painting g them yourself, adding/wiring the projectors, and resealing them? Its doable just making sure you understand what goes into it. You can also buy ones made by pros for about 1k.

I would plan on issues and not getting it done in a weekend. You also want OEM housings, not aftermarket because they dont reseal as well. So I would get an extra set of OEM housings and take your time.

Look up The Retrofit Source. A lot of good youtube tutorials.

edit - there are no preblacked out housings

No fronting. I researched this shit out of this and know I could do it. I also know I would run into issues and it would be frustrating and take time due to learning curves. Such as getting a drip line when painting and stripping and repainting. Plus at the time my wife was in the "you care more about your truck" mood. So instead of more time away from my wife I paid a fellow user who has done many others for mine. No fronting. :D

I think he has limited data. Kinda like I have, which is why I don't post memes or gifs when at work or out and about.
