I just put my 285s on and took my turd to lone pine. It actually made the transmission better as it became predictable... not all spastic searching for 4th, 5th, 6th gear all the damn time.

 

I've got probably over 400lbs in skids (all BAMF 1/4' steel) full trilogy, LCA, and rear diff. Then DCLB BAMF DOM sliders at 95lbs each. Front bumper and winch, rear high-clearance bumper w/swingout and full-sized matching spare. Then bed rack, RTT, and lots of gear.

...but what really weighs the most are the patches on the headliner, right @Taco-Obsessed?

 

Really? Even without the regear? Thats usually what everyone says the gears does... very interesting

Well thanks! I ask a ton of questions about this kinda thing because it’s a freakin investment of what little cash i already have lol. Don’t wanna do something i hate and then end up regretting it

Really. I wasn't surprised. I started off with the 245s that came on the turd, moved up to the 265 and it seemed to fix half of the issues. So I went to 285 and it fixed I would say another 25 to 30 percent of its wacky transmission. The truck doesnt want to run in 6th gear until about 80 mph.

 

I am running stock gears and have a shitload of weight, I'm fine.

Just make sure your leaf pack is appropriate and you should be okay.

I think mine came with some variant of the 265 because the stock wheel size was an 18 so i didn’t get to experience the 245 tire. Thats what i had on my 2nd gen taco tho and the 265s were quite the improvement

Zion was the codename of a switch we released years ago, and there were many hurdles involved with that release. Those of us that worked on it got that shirt.
