I did not like Pulp Fiction, and it always amazes me to see how many people get upset when I tell them that. I don't like most Tarantino films, to be honest.

I might as well take this opportunity to piss off those who voted for SPR.

The opening is rightly praised.
From all accounts, that sector of Omaha Beach was a bloody shambles.
And the film gives an unflinching portrayal of it.

It's the premise of the rest of the movie that's flawed.

At the sinking of the U.S.S. Juneau off Guadalcanal in November, 1942, all 5 Sullivan brothers of Waterloo, Iowa, were killed.
Which led to a new War Department policy that forbade family members serving together in the same unit.

But it's inconceivable that General George C. Marshall would intervene in the way portrayed.
Here you have the remnants of a Ranger company who had seen the worst of Omaha Beach, sent to do...what?
Mind you, the command of an infantry Captain is a company.
And there he is, leading a squad.
What about those guys?

I love his movies. Not gonna pick a fight with ya'll tho...there's a lot of stuff mainstream likes that I can't handle.

They're just movies, after all.

Tarantino certainly makes stylish movies.
And Spielberg is a master.
