    It depends, really. My last bow (current) was $550, ready to shoot. (No arrows, release, or broadheads).
    But you could spend much, much more...but not much less.
    My buddy bought a bow last week...just over $1200.
    Btw: the deer (or elk) are the same amount of dead no matter what you spend.

    Wish I could get one of those! Arrow went clean through and a foot deep into the ground after.
