I have seen a lady do that around here.


I drove a F-350 dually down the road with a bed load of hay bales when I was 12 years old. Started out just driving along in the field while my uncle loaded them. when we got done I just keep driving and ended up driving down the road, Went from behind another uncles house to my grandmothers house.

 

My coworker recently bought this jeep off eBay from New Mexico if that tells you anything. It’s actually an upgrade from his Honda rebel he’s been riding daily for the past year and a half. Rain or snow he’s here. Dedicated, I’ll give him that. Procrastinating old man, I’ll give him that as well.

First rain we had with his jeep the floorboard was full of water. He figures it out. The rear seal is gone off the back window and the window doesn’t sit right.

There’s a 1/2” gap at the top and the bottom is flush. He ordered the new rubber seal a month ago, it’s in the back seat still packaged.

I leave work today, it’s raining, I look to see if he fixed it. Nope. Has a towel on it and some bubble wrap stuck in the passenger side. You can see the gap on the left side. It’ll take him 15 minutes to fix.

3 weeks ago he had it covered in black duct tape. Not sure what happened to it.

Sometimes I want to shake him but I don’t know that I could stop. I’ve worked with him almost 25 years, he’s close to 70 and been this way since I’ve known him.

His last jeep had a leak in the radiator for two years before he replaced it. I counted 27 gallon jugs of antifreeze in the back one day. No lie. He had the new radiator at home the entire time. I told him he could pay a mechanic to install it for what he was spending on antifreeze.

 

One more day and I’ll be off for 15!

Next time someone calls me a procrastinator, I'm referencing this story. And why would you procrastinate on something you have to live with every day?!
