    I haven’t thought about a soft topper and I’d have to sleep diagonal or leave the tailgate down which makes me prime mosquito bait.

    I’m even just considering a Shiftpod, Gazelle T4 (for quick setups), or some other overland ground style tent (like canvas of heavier material) but once the cost pushes 600 or so bucks, you’re getting into truck mod budget prices.
    I’m a rural supply chain shipping manager.

    Just get yourself an easy ground tent if you're considering it. Way better than finding some uncomfy as hell sleeping position you have to navigate. We have a friend who has one of those pop up ground tents and it's literally the quickest thing I've seen and he loves it.
