Well I was makin some burgers today and got tired of my buddy's grill being on fire for the nth time, so after I was done I decided to clean it. I don't think this mf has cleaned it ONCE in at least 4 years. I spent 2 hrs just scraping and brushing the sides. Fuck washing the grates in a sink, I'll get to those another time. Just finished and am now letting it burn the rest off...and it's still smoking to high hell. I am also covered in lots of grease and burnt food, so that's good. Happy Monday everyone, and remember to clean your shit so your buddy doesn't wake the neighbors with his swearing doing it for you

Sounds like my sister. They pretty much use a bbq till it burns to all hell and then it's time to buy another. They're pretty wasteful, but they're slowly getting better.

 

I'm not buying him a new grill. I scraped and brushed most of it off, now steaming the rest, brush, scrap, repeat

It's just nasty. It isn't hard to clean when you're done, but after about the 200th time, then yeah, it sucks. I don't get it

Edit: the steaming is working and it's not smoking anymore. Gonna give it a couple more then call it a day. I probably smell fantastic

 

They at least clean the grates but they never went beyond that. Ours is needing a good clean right now because we've been doing a lot of burgers lately. I'm not looking forward to it.

 

It sucks. I've found right after cooking is the best to do most of it, just be careful of the heat, then take it up to around 500, turn off gas, throw some water around, close it, turn gas back on and that loosens the rest up. I'd give it more thought, but it's not my grill

Just remembered my sink is getting clogged too, so that'll be fun
