I was a volunteer fireman for 15 years, got burnt out on it. Dad was a professional fireman and also a volunteer until he messed his back up so bad he had to retire.

My dad was a police officer for 30yrs. I def considered becoming one. But the pay is so horrid. Police officers(with proper training) should def be paid legit.

My father had many saves, and apprehensions that made news during my adolescence. And I was very proud.

He saved the life of one of my friends in Junior High. Found her when everyone assumed she had run away.

She was in a ravine in her car 20 meters down toward the river from the hwy she was last seen on. Found her on day 3. She was barely alive. She now is married with 3 kids.
