Opinion required:

Im training a new guy ( 20 yr old ) fresh out of trade school. A customer gives him a 20$ bill, and says buy some lunch..
Now, Ive been doing this along time, and when a customer gives a tip... we split it.
Right???
This kid, after 3 days, I couldn’t stand it anymore.. I finally said “When u gonna buy me lunch”? He looks at me and said,
“ you really want the ten bucks? “
Like the f’n nerve!! Am I wrong??
“Wow”I said, “this is whats wrong with your generation.” He rolled his eyes like I was a cheap bastard.
I dont NEED 10$.. but its the principle
Right??

 

When I tip a duo, I expect they are splitting it.

Went and busted some clays on 5-stand with Pops! Hotter than the hinges of Hades but lots of fun. Now I have a shotgun to clean...and yes, we used both barrels.

I'm with you on this and I don't get it either. I won't blame all the kids of that generation because I've known a few with enough brains that splitting it would have been their first thought. The rest of them though, so help me they're a bunch of entitled punks.

Example, my niece is 17 and just got her first job. Totally logical kid, understands she's been given advantages in life (car, etc...) and is gracious and humble.
My nephew on the other hand, 15 years old and believes mom and dad are made of money and there's no consequences in life. Wants to live in a van and travel everywhere. Explaining to him the cost of a van plus travel expenses and also that you can't just stay parked in certain places indefinitely nor at your leisure was a shocker for him. RV park rental can be just as much as an apartment somewhere. He's in for a wake up call in the next few year's especially once sis is out of the house and responsibilities are solely on him.

I picked up some steel shot today for dove season as I can't hunt in California with the 4-5 cases of lead shot I have.
