As I learned in my past as a seasonal FS worker, we used a flat file and run it down across the sides towards the tip to sharpen it, works great when chopping through roots. I do this on my fire shovel and gardening spade, too.

Shouldn’t be to hard get the stihl one, stick a sticker on it and sell them for 20 bucks more. And call it an over landing peavy.

Do you still have your sharpening guides? That lil tool was great for when in the field and wanting to check your profile on your saw, ads, axe, etc.

    :D:D
Nice saw! Does uour wife wear corks, too? Dont let her drive your truck with them on. :D

Peavies are great for moving large logs, but there’s such a thing as too much gear.

Dang, I think I do! I also found my little first aid kit and red headlamp with rusted out C-cell carbon batteries in it. Oh, and my P38’s. :) !!! :)

Ha! That's in my 95 year old grandfather's "garage" he has about 10 of those saws, a peavy, and a bunch of other old timey farming/logging tools. The shoes also belong to my 94 year old grandmother. So they were just being borrowed to tromp around the property.

Better bet is to not let her drive at all, regardless of footwear. ;)

I kid, shes a decent driver, but she says I stress her out, because she thinks I'd go ballistic if anything happened to my truck. I'd like to think I'd be more rational than that.

that why you spread the gear out amongst the group. I only carry everything if I am going out alone. even then it is thought out thoroughly with what tools/etc.
