I've only been to visit once, I was just messin around.

But seriously, go poke around in your regional thread. I doubt everybody in your area pays a shop to do the CMCs. I'm sure theres somebody on here that would be willing to help you out and maybe save you a couple bucks

I’m OC Cali and shit is expensive here. I was quoted $250-260 from very reputable shops with a lot of experience in CMC. On the low but still quality side I was quoted $170. I ended up going with the most expense which was $260 and am very happy with the work.

Most fabricators will charge by the hour but most CMCs are a flat rate. I had both sides done in about an hour and it cost around $200

    Keep looking around.

I sourced the plates from a vendor here for about $20 and checked different offroad places familiar with the process and ended up paying $100 for them cutting, welding new plates on and painting.

Reasonable to me would be anything less than $275 depending on your area.

CMC is more so about welding than automotive, so maybe ask a welding place too.

The cost isn’t just about the service, but the knowledge and skill, tools, and materials needed to do it well. If he has a good (welding) reputation, sounds fair to me. Personally, I’m going to do my own once it’s no longer under warranty. I’ve watched all the YouTube videos and as a fabricator it doesn’t look hard at all. You could buy an angle grinder, enough wheels, and a 2-5lbs hammer to do your own pinch welds for cheap though. Just a thought.

Mine was ~$180 here in NW Florida where there is like zero shops around. Came out mint though. Like someone said, get some recomendations from locals and see the end product.

Find a buddy with a sawzall and do the cutting yourself. Then just find another buddy with a welder or pay someone to weld the plate. Thats gonna be your cheapest path forward and...educational.

    Update:

CMC is happening. But with the offset of the wheels I think the tires are going to rub on the fender first. Other than changing out my wheels, does anyone have experince with cutting/heat gun and pounding the fenders back?

CMC seems to only be a part of the problem, the fender may rub as well.
