Cool,,, Im still on the fence,,, I like the stock but wish it had more airflow,,, i am thinking of a way to add air ram like the urd stystem combine with the stock,,, using a 3 or 4 inch T on the intake before the filter and a T- pipe that still keeps the factory intake and add a 3 inch cool air intake ip front like the the urd system.... Found parts at lowes for around 40 bucks,,, we will see how that goes,,,

I put a K&N in mine to save money. My last truck(1994 Toy 4x4 V6 stock intake)I had the same K&N in her for over 12 years........with a cleaning at every oil change.I've been running K&N's forever in my quads and they are bulletproof, very long lasting and do add top end to your machine.Over 12 years I saved a shitload of $$$ with just that one K&N as opposed to buying a new OEM air filter every 15,000 miles. After 12 yrs the filter still looked like new.I duned that truck alot too and the K&N never, ever passed any sand. They are well worth their small investment.:D

Did you ever test it, or did you just look at your oil and see no sand in it:rolleyes:

I kept a stock intake and there was never any sand beyond the outside of the filter.Checked the oil too and it was always as clean as the day I put it in the truck.Changed it every 2500-3000 miles religiously.

If I change my intake it will look like this:

I would say stock with a AFE dry filter (cleanable, no oil to mess with). Plus you have no issues with smog checks. If you CAI isn't CARB-Approved, you'll fail smog. There aren't many that are CARB-Approved. If you're stuck on getting a CAI, I believe some K&N's are CARB approved. They have to have a CARB-Approved sticker on them and even then some have reported having trouble with the smog stations denying them.

We don't have 'inspections' on our cars. I can remember putting milk of magnesia on a chip in my window so that I would pass. Hated those red inspection tags! I take it that NJ still does that!?

I isnstalled an AEM cold air intake with the dry air filter (no oil). It added hp. I love it as it has also helped with my gas mileage. I would make the same MOD again. In combination with my Flow-Master, American Thunder, Cat-Back, Spilt-Tail exhaust; it is hard to keep my foot off the gas pedal.

It performs as good as it sounds, GREAT!!!
I get compliments almost every day on my Taco.

i looked up the price of the aem, and i ant believe its only like 160, thats so inexpensive, all im lookin to do is add some noise when i hit the gas, and people seem to say thats a pretty loud one...not 100% on the looks, if anyone has a pic that would be great. thanks
