The local drive through wash works great.

My cars sit outside 100% of the time. Should I be using a Carnauba type of wax?

I use Aerolon Show Polish and let it cure for a day then use P21s to seal . For maintenance I use Aerolon Tech Shine after every wash Ftw

As long as the truck isn't caked in dirt I also use Optimum No Rinse, works very good IMO.

Definitely not. It's a waste. It evaporates off pretty quick. The only benefit carnuba has, is that it gives the paint a nice "glow." If we do a show car, or especially something that spends 99% of it's life inside, then we might use a carnuba wax if the customer requests. What you want is a polymer, or synthetic sealant. Something that will actually last more than a month or so. The hydro2 I posted earlier is my personal favorite and has been for a while now. Opti seal works well too. Look into one of those, and I'll think you'll like them.

I like Chemical Guys stuff. I've used their wash, wax, and glass cleaner. All seem to work well. And they smell nice, if you care :p.

I get it off Amazon as well for the same reasons you noted.

Chemical Guys Honeydew for washing (foam lance) and Collenite wax year round. Collenite is super easy to work with. Meguiars cleaner wax is pretty good too at getting fine scratches out while waxing, but the wax doesn't hold up quite like Collenite in my experience. If I have a larger correction to make I use Meguiars Ultimate Compound. Always followed with wax.

This is on my list to buy. How does it work for bug removal? My truck never really gets dirty...just dusty and covered in bug guts.

Wont this stuff screw up the black plastic (such as OR fender flares)?

Nope! Actually seals them up great too. It doesn't dry out, "white out," or discolor them when used correctly. Works on glass, wheels and everything that you want to bead water. I used it on matte wraps on cars as well too and even they bead water afterwards.

This is good to know. Thanks for the great info. I want to take extra care of my Taco mobile. Knowing stuff like this helps a lot.

Good trick for bug guts - wet area, then put full strength wash soap on them and let it soften them (don't let it dry), when you go to wash they are a lot easier to get off.

^^^ Yep, a variation of this is to drape a hot wet soapy towel over the area for a few minutes while tending to other parts. Learned this trick for motorcycle plexiglass windshields/fairings.

Pretty impressive! @1bad2k, Have you tried applying the product using a 2 gallon garden sprayer? I'd probably shoot a few vehicles with one big load...

These methods for bug guts, does it also apply for bird poop? Sometimes that stuff is like cement/tar.

2 buckets probably the most underrated thing you can use.
