After ten years of ownership, my door locks started to fail. I ended up taking every actuator apart and replaced the motors. This seemed to do the trick up until last night. The front passenger door will stick or not open at all via key fob. Most of the time I can open it with the push button on the control panel. (It did stick two times though) I switched key fobs this morning and the lock has been working fine thus far. Is this a common symptom of remote failure or is it my door lock actuator messing up again? Any input is appreciated. Thank you!

did you inspect all the linkages from the door latch to the actuator. sometimes the grease in the latch gets sticky and should be cleaned and regreased.

Whenever I did the motors, I regreased everything to be on the safe side.

Yeah I replaced the battery in the fob around a month ago, so I don't think it's the battery. And no, they haven't arrived yet which is weird now that you've said that.

did you clean the connection on the actuator and put some dielectric grease on it. just going over a check list sorry if you have already done this.
have you tracked them I kinda thought that the shipping was a little off cause it said a rival was today but that would only be 2 day shipping from the USPS, that never happens.

Yes, I used some graphite powder and dielectric grease on the cables. That's what O'Reily's worker said works best.

And yes, it says it's in transit to destination.

never heard of graphite powder. try some electric contact/parts cleaner. if it happens again. the CRC or other brand. have you checked voltage to the actuator?

I have not. It's been working just fine with my secondary key fob. I'm using it for a couple days to see if it's the fob itself. I don't want to tear down the door again if it's something simple as a key fob going bad.

try cleaning the connection if it starts doing it again. other then that it could be a bad fob circuit board.

Old school but it works..also used sometimes here in colder climates to prevent the door locks from freezing

Never on electricals no but for door lock cylinders it keeps them from freezing so you aren't locked out of your vehicle.

I guess it could be used for the issue here too but in my example it is a good solution because it cannot freeze. Damn MA winters

that could help Zach, but I think he is just having a fob issue. he's been over everything. but as we all know some parts can come faulty.

That could be, I've never owned a vehicle with a fob except when I was a teen and it just worked the alarm.

Zach, do you get cold weather this time of year?

Sometimes, very rare though. If we do, it's never longer than 2-3 days.
