The bulbs on the side marker lights were burnt out and when I replaced them, I noticed, where the bulb fits into the holder, this area was charred.

WTF? Is this normal or what?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I put some LEDs in mine a few months ago and some of the plastic socket chipped off. The socket seems to ride high on the bulb in my opinion. My guess is heat from the bulbs being in too close contact to the sockets bakes the plastic. Or it's just cheap chinese plastic.

A loose electrical connection acts like a heater.... Make sure the new bulbs fit tight into the connector socket.

My opinion, the plastic extends too high up onto the bulb and is too tight on the glass. Just removing the old bulb caused some plastic to chip off.

Wonder if there is a universal plug that we could pick up from Autozone or something. Just snip wires and replace the plug. :notsure:
Not really that worried about it though.
