I have a 2002 4 door that I'm pretty sure has either a cracked head or a blown head gasket. I just had the whole motor rebuilt a year ago ($6,000) and now this has happened so I'm sick of the truck and am not going to put anymore money into it. It has a brand new OME lift/leaf pack, brand new JBA upper control arms, ARB bumper, winch, shell, brand new tires, big brake kit etc. I started putting all this money into it when I had the motor re done and now I'm pissed and have enough of the truck haha. I know that stuff really doesn't matter but just for an idea of what it has and curious what you guys think I could get out of the truck. Thanks!

$6000, for a complete engine rebuild a year ago should certainly still be under warranty.
As far as a valuation goes a photo would sure be helpful.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Calm down !! Rethink this decision .

Engine warranty? For $6,000.00 I would hope so.

Do you really want to throw away this investment for at most new heads.

unless you ran it hot thinking screw this till the engine seized.

Sorry for the late reply, so it has a 3 year unlimited mile warranty until you read the fine print then gaskets are 6 months, and on and on so basically the block has a 3 year unlimited mile warranty haha. The truck has never been overheated in the time I've owned it since 2011.

Getting coolant in the oil and when it's shut down the cold start is hard and has coolant pooling up in the last valve in cylinder 6.

That is one janky warranty. o_O

At minimum, it should be covering all parts that were used in the rebuild process INCLUDING all gaskets..

Did you have the opportunity to see the proposed warranty and read any fine print before giving the go ahead for the rebuild?

If you're a hunter it's guarenteed to have hauled out more 180" muleys than 90% of the trucks out there

Thanks! It's been good at hauling those out haha. The back seat goes to good use during shed season too

OP have you at least reached out to the engine builder to let them know what happened and see what they have to say?
