you have just under 9 months, list it for 32K and sell it to highest bidder. CONGRATS BABY DADDY!!!

and like others have been saying, we are on our 2nd a 2.5yo and 7 weeks old. breast milk is free and if you ask for diapers for the baby shower and be sure to invite everyone (even people you don't like) to it you'll be fine.

Have at least 4 baby showers 1 for each of you for work peeps, 1 for each side of the family (be sure to invite the family memebers you hate - if they have money) and have 1 for your friends. if you do it right the giftcards, free meals (be sure to invite peeps to bring you dinner as you'll be so busy with the baby) free diapers and all of the clothes should offset her not working and/or your payment!!

If the wife is staying home from work for long term have her open a day care.

it's such a nice truck you have to keep it!!

I'm with many in this thread and suggest that you try and keep it if possible; you stand to lose too much by selling

Ya were defiantly looking into the option of my wife staying home and running alittle day care now that you mention it . Just worried of the legalities and tax related stuff .

I won't take any less then 32 though so if I can't get it ill deal with it in 9 months .

Just for reference I got my truck, which is just like yours only short bed, brand new for $32k so I'm guessing you'll be keeping it.

I think your best bet is to try and keep it. People can get new for almost same price, If not cheaper with incentives going on to get rid of 2013's on the lot to get new '14's coming in. I would imagine that a budget would be attainable because you had 10k to put down, bought after market equipment. Clearly you know how to budget and save. Prioritize a little differently and hopefully it can work. You can do it!!!!!! I'm am able to buy all the guns I have just by squirreling away what I budget for lunch money. Break down you payment as what it is per day. I bet its like $10.00-$15.00
Once you look at it like that, do you really need to eat out? Buy that new fishing lure, ect.... A few decisions like that a week and your payment has dropped 25% BOOM!!

This.. I just paid $33,400 for a 13 trd dc 4wd w/ dealer installed lift, 33's, rims, running boards, alarm, and window tint. that was out the door with taxes, tag, and that ridiculous doc fee, and 0% interest. 14's are about to roll out, so 13's will drop further in value as the dealers run the promos and incentives to clear out inventory. if you can i would sit tight and refi it in 6 months through a credit union for 1.9-2.9%. you are not going to find anything as reliable as that truck for under 10k.

My state also charges tax now on private party sales, that takes all the fun (and savings) out of buying or selling on personal side.

LMAO….!!! My wife is now 17 Weeks, it’s funny cuz I sold my BMW 135i and got a Tacoma when I found out we were expecting our 1st child.
By no means will the Tacoma be the full time family car/truck. We are going to sell/trade in my wife’s Lexus CT200.

Can you keep the Taco and maybe get a family car/truck…?

    Too few to list.
According to truecar.com in my area, a brand new 2013 DCLB sports is $29,663 and 4x4 is $32,564 equipped like yours is. Even though you only have 2,500 miles on it, it's still considered used. Most dealers that buy cars uses KBB's "fair" trade-in value and be lucky to get good value ($25-30K depending on 2wd or 4wd). Your mods don't add value to it and $32K is unrealistic. Stick with the payment for the 9 months and refinance for a longer term and depending on your existing financing, possibly a lower rate. Better rate and another 6 year loan should drop your payment by $100 or more.

You can pick up a 2008 or 2009 Civic or Corolla for around 10k and it will be plenty reliable. Not to mention fuel costs and maintenance costs are cheaper.

Mods detract value. Don't count them into your possible price.

I traded in my 07 AC for a DC when we were getting ready for a baby. I have not found it too tight for the purpose of hauling around the wife and baby.

I also ended up buying new because everyone was so proud of their used Tacomas - dealerships included.

I understand that. My fiance is juggling her senior year of college, working, and being a great mom and she's doing a darned fine job at it. It's not always easy financially but i'm thankful to have a reliable and fairly rewarding job.

I actually just traded in my single cab Chevrolet i'd been driving through high school and college in order to buy my first Tacoma...I think it will make a great family vehicle in addition to her Jeep.

Ultimately, each situation is unique and you will love your little one far more than you'll ever love your truck, so do what is best for your family.

You may have a tough time selling it considering a brand new one is just a wee bit more. I actually had an access cab when my daughter was born. But my wife had a 2000 4Runner. I could do the car seat in the access cab fine but nobody could sit in the front. When she was 4 I sold it and bought my first double cab. A double cab makes a pretty good family rig. We take mine everywhere as a family. Once you've got past the initial freaking out about money with a kid on the way you may realize that you could make it work keeping it. My wife was actually looking into the home daycare thing for a while too. It varies by state but most of the time you can have 4-5 kids in your care without being licensed. Good child care isn't cheap and a lot of people prefer smaller settings to day care centers. There's decent money in it if she's got the nerves to deal with it.

Oh and there's nothing cooler than being a dad. Congratulations.

you are probably going to be in a value upside down position. although you do have equity because of the 10K you put into the deal.

trade-in at a dealer for something with lower payments may be your only option.

You could get upper 20s tops. No way you'll get 32,000. With incentives and a good deal, someone could get a 2013 with no miles on it for less than 32,000. Trade it in for a Corolla or something. I got my daughter a Corolla S for 16,000. If you get back most of your equity that you put into the truck, you'll have a brand new car for less than 10K financed. granted it won't be anywhere near the vehicle the Tacoma is but you'll be saving money.

I looked into it , won't save me enough to make it worth it . If I got 30-31 cash I'd walk away and buy a used truck for about half the cost . Have no use fpr a corolla .

But ill most likely hang on for the ride on my payments until push comes to shove ... It's going to be a while before I'm upside down on it so ill keep making payments and cross my diggetts for lots of baby shower gifts and a raise at work lol
