    Check build thread!
    • Power Drivers Seat (Don't be fooled, this allows the rake to be changed. Makes it much comfier.)
    • Larger Headunit
    • Apple Carplay/Android Auto
    • Transmission Tune has improved, although I believe this exists in a TSB for the 19.
    • Driver's side bed cubby was removed
    • MTM is now an option on the higher end models
    • Nightshade edition was added, although I believe this was a 2020 addition. This is basically a Blacked out Limited.
    • New LED headlights.
    • Snorkel is no longer an option on the pro (I think this is a 2020 change?)
    • New colors.

That driver side cubby being gone sure is irritating the crap out of me.

We have a '18 and '20 and, at least for me, the power seat in the '20 is much more comfortable. I am 6'-1" and find the '18 seat travel to be too short, even all the way back. The power seat in the '20 I don't even have to run it all the way back. I have no empirical data to back this up, it is just based on my experience with our 2 trucks.

Also, I've had the '20 for almost 3 months and just noticed, this past weekend, that the driver's side bed storage cubby is missing. Does anyone know a particular reason they did this?

Revisiting this thread I started in March, here's the 2021 full 24 page brochure including the tables of options: https://www.toyota.com/content/dam/toyota/brochures/pdf/2021/tacoma_ebrochure.pdf

I got a voicemail from the dealer saying they're in need of used Tacomas and just got a letter saying the same, so I figured I'd give more thought to trading my '19 TRD-OR-DC with tech and premium packages for an equivalent '21. They know my '19 is in great condition because they did the fuel pump recall work a few months back, but they also have a pretty low inventory of '21 TRD-OR's compared to past years when they typically had a few dozen, so an equal trade might not be in the cards. The letter implied they might even do a key-for-key swap (i.e. I'd not have to pay any money), but that seems pretty unlikely. OTOH, kbb.com says my '19 TRD-OR is worth $42.6-46k for private party sale, which is more than I paid for it.

In my '21, I have the passenger side cubby as well as the 120 volt AC outlet. I haven't actually had use for either the little storage cubby or the "nominal" limited-capacity AC outlet. I would say these are "selling points" for the uninitiated. On the other hand, water was leaking up into the bed through the holes in the cubby, until I sealed them.

I thought about retrofitting the cubby on the driver's side, until I accumulated the experience described above. Now I'm glad Toyota got rid of it. They may as well get rid of the passenger's side as well. If they're going to have an AC outlet, they need to beef up the capacity so that it's truly useful. At least have it so it can run a coffee maker.

I put rubber plugs in my cubby holes the first week I had both trucks. I kept my ratchet straps in the drivers cubby on my 16. Was great for easy access.

5/16" plugs work OK for the cubby drainage holes (as well as the 3 holes in the front of the bed). The bigger problems for the cubbies are the slots for the "hinges" as well as the latching mechanism. I finally figured out the proper way to seal them using Mike Williams' "Cubby Caps."

What did you specifically use for rubber plugs? I am interested in doing the same.

I have the mobtownoffroad lockable cubby cover and it is great. Where did you source your rubber plugs?

I believe the homelink mirror is an undocumented feature that comes with the advanced tech package on the OR. My salesman was surprised to see it in mine, and it wasn’t mentioned in the brochure.

I just used some rubber plugs they had at Ace hardware. I forget the size.

They're in the hardware aisle at Lowe's, and also Ace Hardware has them. They only cost a few cents. Just look for the 5/16" diameter.

They are nice, I do not regret optioning my TRD Sport with them but yes $500 did and still does seem pricey for what you get.

Correct, passenger side works like the drivers side handle.
