can anyone identify an open plug connector please. It's near the rear under the bed. Splits off of wiring to brake lights, etc. is this a connection I can use for trailer wiring? Just bought truck (2011) and manual was missing.

A picture would be helpful. Make sure it shows the location well too.

Sorry guys. Worked all day. Wasn't able to get pic before dark. I've went ahead and ordered t-connection for hitch. I'll try and still get a pic so I will at least know what it is.

Ok. Good to know. I only have 4 pin hook ups on my trailer, but in the future I assume I can get a 7 pin plug if it still works. I'm in southern Virginia. The truck originated in Maryland, does have a lot surface rust underneath, hopefully it will still work. Thanks for the help.

The previous owner jerked the hitch off apparently before trading it in. Unfortunately he didn't replace all the bolts in the bumper bracket. Any idea the exact size of these? I've read about M-14 1.5. I've bought a new hitch but need at least 3 factory sized bolts. They are the pre threaded ones where bumper bracket meets frame. I assume he was using that plug as well since there is no sign of any other trailer wiring.

I read an older thread here that said NAPA or fastenal might have bolts that would work.

This whole hitch install has been one big headache.

Last question on this subject I hope. If the above picture of plug is the factory 7 pin connector, can anyone link me to the correct wiring I can buy to use it? I would really rather plug and go than use the T connectors if possible. I can't seem to find the appropriate plug to fit the connector that's there. Found a couple that looks like what I need but not recommend for my year or model truck. Don't need the whole harness assembly, just the wiring that plugs into the factory connector.
