What are you planning to do with it?

What kind of experience do you have driving off road?

Since you have a 2wd, you won't be crawling with it, so I assume desert running... Maybe mall crawling?

Option 1: Assume you don't really have much driving experience, and a limited budget:
    >>Nothing. No seriously, nothing. Aside from safety/recovery gear (tow strap, high lift, traction aides, emergency communications, etc...) run what you brung for a while. Maybe put a set of Bilstein 5100's on in a little while... Free to about $300-$350 for the billys (Downsouth motorsports - a vendor here - will give you a TW member discount...), more if your springs are shot (with that mileage, they might be)

Option 2: Now you've got a little experience and need some better suspension/tires:
    >> Go for a "mid travel" setup with some King/ICON/Fox reservoir shocks (you'll want the external reservoir shocks for going fast in the desert), new upper control arms (uniball style are more expensive than other types, but are stronger and better if you're going to beat on it). Then look into some type of mid/long travel setup for the rear, too, or at least get some reservoir shocks back there, too. And probably 33" tires. Probably looking at around $3-$4k.

Option 3: You've got money to burn and you like pretending you're in the Baja1000:
    >>This is where you go LONG travel. Total Chaos is probably the better known of the brands, but there are some others. You're looking at $4k-ish for just the front suspension, but as a pre-runner I think you can get 14-16" of wheel travel. Then either look at a spring under conversion for the back with custom leafs or just hack it all off and go full tube chassis with a 4-link and coils on a shock tower. Fiberglass fenders, etc... Expect $10-$15,000 easy for this one...
