    Hey TW!

When putting new wheels on fresh out of the box what should you do beforehand to ensure they stay looking as best as possible and clean up as easily as possible? I'm open to DIY and also dropping off. I'd appreciate hearing what you all do. Thank you!

As much as I agree with your desire to pre-prep your brand new wheels before mounting, I might suggest pumping the brakes just a bit.

First, of all, I'd recommend ceramic coating them for ultimate protection. Wheels take a beating and conventional waxes just don't hold up. That said, I'd hold off on any kind of protective coating until after the wheels have been mounted and balanced. Why? Because if you use self adhesive weights - which almost everybody does these days - they may not stick to your nicely coated surface. That would be a bigger problem.

That is an excellent consideration. I didn't even think about that. Okay! So after mounting....what's the best course of action? Anything specific to know about ceramic coating wheels?

Depending on the pattern / machining / finish of the wheel you choose, wheels can be a royal paint to coat. No matter what, the key is a perfectly clean and corrected wheel. Another consideration is which ceramic coating to use. You want something relatively easy to use. I generally use CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 these days.
