Without regards to rubbing and the other variables, what's the biggest size tire you'd safely put on a 16X8 wheel?

    Ya, I wouldn't go more than 305.

    Here's 285/75's on 16x8 on my Duramax.

I have 275/75/16's on aftermarket wheels(no lift) and get a slight rub on mud flaps..I'm hoping my fender flares take care of it otherrwise I would go with a lower profile tire like 275/70/16..Check where you go to buy as they should know if not they'll have to take care of if there is a problem..they have all the answers- don't they?

I want to get the TRD beadlock rims and put 265/75/16 for now (stock setup). I want to be able to upgrade to bigger tires later (such as 305s) when I CMC, lift, cut/trim later.

305s are perfectly fine with 16x8s. 315s are also ok with them. Theres enough sidewalls on those.
17s + are the ones you'd have to run wider wheels.
