Where r you guys st that you're having to put deposits down? I started looking at the end of august and there were about six '17 / manual / TRD / premium & tech models within 2.5h of me. I watched as several of them sold but a few sat longer than the average 29 days on the lot.

I only ask this because I was not planning on putting a deposit down or ordering one. I was going to wait for them to hit the lot and then go find one with the configuration I wanted. Based on my observation over the last 60 days, I figured I would be able to do that. My thinking was that perhaps people did not want the manual transmission or they didn't want to pay for the premium and tech package.

That's encouraging to hear. I'm not sure if they're worried since I specifically ordered a TRD PRO in Cavalry Blue with a manual, but they said it could take 8-10 months when I ordered in late August. They did GUARANTEE they'd et one, but we'e hesitant with the timeline.

There are plenty of 17's at Dealerships in western Canada. Try a different dealer or Salesman.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in NW Ohio so it is probably a bit different than the market up north or even out west. While trucks do rule in my area, we are relatively flat so most people just want the big V8 haulin' trucks. I'm guessing that's why I saw some Tacoma models sit for so long around me.

I also do think that the average Tacoma buyer is looking for an auto (keep in mind we're an enthusiast forum) so that probably plays in my favor. Finally, I KNOW that people in my town want the stripped down models. They don't want the bells and whistles. They want the hubcaps on the beige, cloth trim -- so that's kinda good for me too.

It's actually pretty close to the design of a Pro grille. Not bad

NICE photo editing!! Sadly, it still looks like some sort of a chain-link fence stuck on the truck

doubtful, it will likely be exactly like the 17's with the
addition of safety sense features, new grille and different wheels.

I was curious about that too. but after looking closely at the photos that have been presented of the 18's it looks the same as the 17's. just a relocated switch.

Try a different dealer. Preferably a higher volume one which might get first delivery of Pro's

Ended up cancelling my 2018 order as the dealer informed me they were unable to enter the order with the black/orange leather option that I elected based on the leaks. They predicted that the truck wouldn't arrive until December at best due to the timing of the release and the fact that it was a manual.

I ended up going with the 2017 TRD Sport DCSB Black 6MT they had on the lot. MSRP was $35,762 and I was able to get it for 33,220.39 under supplier pricing and they added in a third year of Toyota Care up to 40,000 miles free of charge.

I simply didn't have the time to wait months for the truck. I do hope those of you that are able to wait find some really great changes!
