I have twice while deployed and anyone with a brain can jump on toyota's websites where the hilux is for sale see why your initial statement is wrong, what are you even trying to argue "dawg"... Never said it would ever come here, that's quite obvious, just it's a better truck as far as reliability, off road capability, powertrain options, etc., does it look as cool as our tacomas here, no but it is a better truck.

Again, so have I. More than twice. In fact I actually still have one of the keys somewhere and I think I've purposely tried to lose it. They were dog shit. If you want hilux reliability, get a 2trfe. I'm very much not wrong. You are a hype believer because once or twice you got to play in a hilux for recess.

Twice as in on a daily basis for 2, 6 month deployments. But your entitled to your opinion as I am to mine, but your opinion doesn't really account for much besides just that. But no worries "dawg"...

No doubt it is more reliable because they have basically stuck with the same formula forever. But, if we had it here we would all be complaining about how cramped it is and about how crude it is. They are very tight. I know a guy in Australia that has had a bit of everything and he strongly prefers the global Ranger because it is bigger and more refined. He even likes the Mitsubishi L200 better but no one disputes the reliability of the Hilux. It's funny how we always think we want what the rest of the world has but if we had all those diesels that they had we would be complaining because they hit 0-60 in 12 seconds...

It's no fucking mystery that I'm a Toyota pickup fanboy. So when I finally got to step into a hilux, I was excited. And then instantly, I wasn't. It's a POG go kart. My opinion counts for jack shit... but listen boys and girls, this isn't something you're gonna be happy with. ESPECIALLY when so many people here NEEEEEEED power seats. Rolly rear windows. Heated super tactile finger warmers on the steering wheel.

Your opinion happens to be very similar to what those that I know have of the truck. Yes, it lasts forever but you will not want to drive it forever. It is small, crude, cramped, and slow. For those that are complaining about a 7 second 0-60 truck in their third gen wait until a 12 second truck is delivered to your door. Having said this, I would love to have the reliability of the Hilux for sure.

We are a different market. We want everything but don't want to sacrifice a thing. This truck would be so picked apart over here that only a few throwback buyers would buy it. As for the 10 second run for the Duramax, the Toyota would come close because of the lack of transmission tech that they are willing to put in the trucks. Like it or not, Mr. Toyoda is a car guy all the way and the Toyota trucks get whatever they can scrounge up to build a good product. I'll take my Taco for now and hope Toyota returns to the glory days of quality sooner than later.

Thing is, I want the reliability of the olden yota trucks. And I'm not someone who needs goofy accoutrements reserved for passenger cars, I prefer something in between. So I got a 2trfe. Hilux runs em. Not that it matters. But if the sentiment is that hilux is forver reliable, then hey. We share the same forever reliable engine.

Yeah, I owned a few of the early "golden age" Toyota's haha, here's one of them, back in the day when we weren't very safety conscious. haha. The old hiluxes were great, tough as hell, and fantastic off road. We beat them up mercilessly for almost every purpose. The American built 4X4 trucks of that era were very crude, and Toyota blew them out of the water with unbelievably tight and well designed drive trains that changed the way everyone looked at off road driving. Suddenly you got go lots of tough places and not get stuck. The disadvantage, though, was that they rusted relentlessly. my first in 1980, only lasted 7 years. They were fun to drive and were absolutely basic. Also, the interiors were very minimal, and I doubt that they would satisfy a lot of the huge guys that belong to today's generation.

I ordered my truck February 20, was supposed to be built May 13 and delivered first week of July. A few members on here received information that their builds were getting pushed a few weeks back. I just got off the phone with my dealer he said my will still be a 17, but is getting pushed back until end of July early August to be built. And he said it appears that the 18s will start being built shortly after that And their first 18 Is supposed to hit the lot at the end of September or October.

Edit: Me and my dealer were looking at paperwork and build schedule , mine will be a 2018, he said we will wait a few weeks to see what changes if any are scheduled, if I don't like the posted changed or TSS safety systems that may be added, he will cancel order. I was also thinking about looking at 2018 4runner depending on scheduled changes. Our prior deal which still stands is that i get any vehicle at invoice so no matter which way I go I'll be OK.
