So leather seats, a grill, foglights, and badges? ...$40k in to my OR, I have everything else listed above plus additional BETTER skid/sliders, better suspension, better wheels/tires, and don't have to worry about leather.

I get it.. It's entry level trail ready, fairly capable out of the dealer. I was ready to sign on the Pro, at the dealer and all... And began to realize how much of that truck I would be picking apart to make it more like the OR. Spend $45k on it to toss the suspension, wheels, tires, and then cover the leather with cloth. I couldn't justify to myself basically tossing $10k out the window to have a pro model and not even able to tell besides a badge and unique color (blue), at the end of the day.

OR or Pro, I still would have done a lift, wheels, tires, skids, sliders, eventually bumpers, winch.

So yeah, that's my sensible post. That's me being sensible. I made the right decision for me.

Pros has its pros and cons. Think of it as this.. loaded cement trd offroad with tech and premium is 43k ( dealerships here wont do invoice due to lack of stock and high demand) pro is 45k msrp but dealers do their own mark up with tint, clear bra, steps etc. you have everything minus jbl and moonroof plus headlights,

Everyone has their reasons for a trd pro. I already had a trd offroad but just bought a pro. Why.. because it doesnt really need anything. Only thing im doing is replacing the front shocks to fox 2.0 for more lift, ome dakars, and throwing my ray 10 and ko2’s(i already had from my trd offroad) on. Nothing else more I need. I can sell the trd pro wheels and the front oe fox for the costs of my parts I upgraded to. I liked my offroad.. but sometimes you like the little details and subtle upgrades the pro offers. Price is hefty yes.. but its just money. It comes and goes.. this vehicle retains value well so i dont feel so bad after buying one

MSRP for a offroad premium with tech is $40,505... that includes the $995 destination fee. These trucks can be had for around invoice ($37,473) if you put a little effort in.

Right now they aren’t haggling much on the cements offroads. They’re popular right now. Cant blame them really. Its kind of like quicksand when it first came out, then the hype died down and became easier to buy at invoice

I didn't haggle at all. I bought my 2018 Cement DCSB 4x4 TRD OR prem/tech for just over $34+TTL. I shopped for the last 6 months and was very patient to pull the trigger on a truck. I used USAA/TrueCar for pricing, my credit union for financing, and spent under 2 hours at the dealer..

Sounds like you need to look for a better dealer, I have multiple dealers offering me $500 below invoice. I actually have a DCSB Offroad premium with tech on order for $500 below invoice. I realize that this might be region specific but i would look around possible outside my region if it meant i could save 3k. what region are you in?

    agree..

I happened to find an unallocated TRD Pro at a dealer 5 hours from me. I drove there, drove the truck, pondered for 30 minutes and walked out with intent to wait for the best deal on an OR. That Pro was being offered (to me) for $500 under the MSRP.

When people put their down payments on these (pros) the dealer anticipates selling them. They want to get them off their lot ASAP so Toyota will allocate another to their dealership. If somebody decides they don't want the truck the dealer needs to act quick. I saw two pros sit on the local lot for over a week due to people backing out and getting deposits back. It happens. If you see one on a lot that hasn't been sold, make an inquiry with the internet department, they're likely to offer you MSRP or less.

What was the MSRP on your truck? I've been closely monitoring the "how much did you pay" thread. I believe MSRP is hovering around 40k.. That's the best deal I've seen by 3k. I haven't seen anyone under $37k on that particular truck.

Got my 18' TRD OR 4wd DCSB MT w/tech for 33k and sticker was 36.5k but that's with a college rebate. Nonetheless, if your in and around CA (specifically central) and don't mind driving (I drove from socal), my salesperson will sell you an 18' for invoice. Anyone can PM me and I'll send you her contact info.

Wondering if maybe some money was hidden in a trade. I think that's about 3k under invoice.

There is not $6000 profit between msrp and true invoice for a dealer on a tacoma. Theyd be losing big $ if they didnt stick you on trade or financing or somewhere. Or dealer is buried in inventory and is willing to take a few losses to move inventory and hopes to make it up on volume and other positive sales. Dangerous game to play if taking losses betting on the come.

Norcal region is still not getting any sport/offroad with premium package. The only dealers near me are that have them are in socal/nevada. My dealer still can't allocate any. I'll just wait for it because the socal ones are either invoice pricing or alittle over and I'll have to fly down to get one. Hopefully Toyota will start sending them our way.

Great deal! Did you have a trade? What dealer is this (if you don't mid sharing)? $6k off is about 3x more than what dealers in my region are offering.

One of his other posts made it sound like he doesn't have leather, so no Premium package. Maybe just Tech package?
