That's my understanding too. False exclusivity, imo. This is why I recommend using the USAA or Costco vehicle deal. They find it, you pick it up. Also, I don't hate dealerships. Can't blame them for trying to make money...they aren't charities. Just have to even the playing field. USAA/Costco does that, IMO.

It irritates me that all the stuff added after '16 wasn't included at the launch of the 3rd gen. Leather seats for TRD's, power rear glass, power tailgate lock...these are all basic truck features that should have been there from the start.

Good luck using it for a Pro, may work, but when the 2016s first came out the Costco dealers in my area excluded all Tacomas from the deal. I ended up happy with the deal I got, but it wasn't from a Costco dealer. I'd certainly try it again, but I'd bet they exclude the Pro.

I can't get Costco to do any Toyota in my area.

My Local Dealership got 2 total, 1 was their allotment and #2 was supposed to go to a different dealer that went out of business so they got it.

You're probably correct. i did my know about Costco when I got my Pro. Brother used them to get a Sequoia. Worked like a charm.

Test drove a 2017 OR DCSB MT in Raleigh yesterday. I brought up the TRD Pro and the Manager mentioned there would be no Pro in 2018. I assume (hope) he is just basing this off the fact that there is no option in the computer system yet.

Good news is that I love how the truck drove. I test drove a Rubicon unlimited the day before to keep my options open. (I had an 07 Rubicon 2D so I am not new to jeeps, but it was an AT.) I liked the Taco MT better. I have missed a MT since I sold my last one, (06 FJ).

I'll drop a link in here since it doesn't look like anyone has beat me to it- someone leaked the MY2018 changes on reddit.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/leaked-my2018-changes.507900/

e: I'm dumb and this has already been discussed in this thread. That's my bad for not reading through 63 pages of shenanigans to find it. Searching for 'MY2018 Specs', 'MY18 Specs', and similar yielded nothing. Once I added in 'leak' though, she came up.

There is no TRD Tundra for 2018. There will be a TRD Pro Tacoma.

I was also at my dealership yesterday & my salesperson mentioned the exact same thing. I haven't gotten him to confirm ANYTHING about the 2018 Tacoma but he did speculate Toyota may be trying to get away from the Pro pkg. It has been removed from the 2018 Tundra & the 16/17 Tacoma Pros were a huge headache. We got down this road because I asked him about ordering Pro parts for my OR & he admitted he has heard that will become VERY slim pickens.

They may be saying no 2018 Pro b cause they would rather sell you a truck they do have and not one they may or may not get.
The Tundra dropped the Pro when they added a Sport, they already have more trim packages than the Tacoma so they may not have been able to handle adding another without removing one. They aren't adding any trims to the Tacoma, and with the 4Runner Pro also confirmed, I'd be surprised if they got rid of it, it was probably a bigger seller on the 4Runner and Tacoma, two more off road oriented vehicles than the Tundra.

No way they are giving up the Pro Tacoma, too much money to make on them.

^^^Agree. Too popular. I thought the only "problem" they caused was the limited availability of them?

You know I never realized this but maybe since this is what, the second color on the TRD Pro T4R as well as Tacoma of colors that used to be in the FJ platform I think Toyota might be trying to tempt some of the old FJ owners to switch out and get these, lol...

Kidding of course but it's interesting!
