They have something called Softex available on the 4runner. Sort of like a premium vinyl. Really wishing Tacomas had that option.

I was very surprised when I began shopping the tacoma to learn that they didn't even have leather as an option except the ltd!

We had a RAV4 with the softex seats and I figured the tacoma would AT LEAST have those! They weren't a bad sub for real leather though we only had them for ~20k miles so I can't speak to their longevity.

Honestly, the upcoming leather option is the main reason I'm not in a tacoma yet.

You know a lot of ridgeline owners?

Or is that just a passing observation of the parking lot while taking lashings at your S&M club?

Same here. I really didn't want the limited. So I'm glad it's in the TRD trims. It's going to look great in the TRD Sport. Hopefully it comes in Black like the TRD Pro.

Spec sheet shows black available on TRD sport and Offroad, and limited (limited still offers hickory also)

In my opinion, Touota needs to re-tier the Tacoma lineup to simplify things. The current SR5 should be the SR, the current off-road should be the SR5, the current PRO should be the off-road and the limited should remain the limited.

Part of that is because your TRD OR has a shorting stopping distance than the 4runner. People love to shit on the drum brakes but often don't realize the TRD Offroad Tacoma and Pro both brake faster than: Camry, RAV4, 4Runner, Corolla, Prius.... the only car I know of that Toyota currently makes that brakes better than the Tacoma TRDOR is the 86/FRS... which is a full on sports car.

Here's to hoping the 2018 won't come right out of the gate with the same TSB and Recalls.

What could be taking so long for Toyota to still not have the 2018's available for order online? Has it taken them this long to release it in the past? Do you think it's because of the issues they've had in the last two years?

That could definitely be the reason for the delay. We shall see if some of the issues folks have had these past two years are rectified in the 2018 Tacoma.

But I'm leaning toward safety sense being the reason.

Is there a reason you think the Offroad and the Pro brake faster than the Sport, Limited, SR5 and SR?

bigger/more powerful brake booster (used for CRAWL control) and wider/stickier tires which always help with braking.

Its also not on opinion of mine, its objective. Look up braking tests on the Tacoma the TRD OR is 125-128ft 60-0... the sport is 132-135ft. Not a HUGE difference but its definitely there.

I for one blame Hillary Clinton for all these turd gen problems. The Tacoma was fine before Hillary ran for office... soon as she ran the Tacoma went to shit.

    YOU CAN'T EXPLAIN THAT!
