I had heard that they're considering replacing the grille with a grill...possibly with design input from Coleman or Char-Broil :dancingbacon:

Well with the quality issues they are having with the year model 15+ trucks, would not surprise me if the ranger is full of fuckery. But everyone will still buy one because it will be for a cheap price like the F150. I have owned over 20 different ford vehicles with most recent being a 16 F150 and I currently own a 16 T4R and 18 Tundra for a reason.

they could be but really all they need to do if they get knocked off is tap into their over seas stuff and they'll be right bck on top lol.

Bring that V8 turbo diesel 79 Series here and see jeep disappear
hell even just bring the hilux and they'll be right back on top.

I suspect (could totally be wrong) that the hype is gonna generate some ranger sales. And ford people gonna ford. Toyota will miss out on some sales... but it’s gonna be business as usual and when the hype dies down the ranger is just going to be an option, not a legend like it was and certainly not the legend the Toyota pickup is.

You can go back and look at sales history and you will see the Ranger owned the segment, I think the best sales year was around 350k.

I don’t need to go back, I agreed. They owned it until they didn’t. You’ll see no ford love from me brosef. Their sales don’t mean shit to me and I don’t partake. No offense.

This.^ I totally agree with u and I have stated this in other threads, though some def disagree. I say that with every sale the competitor gains is another potential Tacoma that isn’t.

Sure Tacoma’s r gonna b sold like hot cakes, but it’s only a matter of time that the competition’s diesel options and or turbo engine availability is gonna peak the interest of plenty of consumers and Toyota has to compete to maintain or exceed yearly sale goals.

Also, the reliability of Tacoma’s is def in black and white on this site. I have heard more than one member state that the cold climates alone r potentially areas where the Tacoma is seeing problems. That’s just one particular mention of issues. There r many small issues that r talked about on a daily basis on here and do and will continue to affect the stigma of great reliability. I love my Taco and enjoy it everyday, but I had my truck gone for a month while my rear differential gasket and bolts were replaced.... Oh and by the way, I wasn’t even part of the “recall”.

It’s obvious the competition can take sales away whether people would like to admit it or not.

Again, I love my truck, but issues can arise and I will hopefully have a long lasting enjoyment with my truck!

Yeah I got what you are saying my friend, I think the reason they lost it was because they decided to go a different way and put no effort into the segment any longer

Oh I totally agree. Ford will shut it down when it starts messing with their Fseries profits im sure. It will be a cool novelty at first then people will realize it’s a Ford and get rid of it. I used to respect them but now you couldn’t pry my Toyota from my dead hands.

As a consumer, I don’t have any business speaking for Toyota. But I SUSPECT that they just aren’t as spooked as people say.

IMO, all vehicle manufacturers are spooked by all electric autonomous technology, all the current noise is going to be irrelevant soon enough.....

One could only sell so many to Orkin, Terminix, Hector's Lawn Service and Tony the Brony's pool Service etc which explains why the resale of the Ranger was complete shit
