Yeah hang onto that reliability and resale while your staring at the ass end of Colorado ZR2 and the soon to be offroad version of the new Ranger with whatever name they give it. Look I really really like this new Tacoma but it’s deficient in enough ways that about every other thread on here is how to fix it. Competition is where it’s at. Toyota has never had a threat level as high as what’s coming they will have to adapt or their sales will suffer period. Ford opted out in US market, globally they are still a prominent player in midsize. They admitted their mistake after watching GMs Colorado and Canyon do well nothing to do with Tacoma.

If I had to guess, there will be a new color added in 2019 and the Manual Transmission will be eliminated.

They eliminated the 5 speed M/T. The 6 speed M/T is next.

its been -45C here for the past 2 weeks and my truck has had 0 issues with the cold.

Honestly I think Toyota's biggest downfall will be how their dealers dismiss all issues as 'normal' or 'cannot replicate'
Every make has issues its how a company addresses them that will also keep customers.

I dunno if its more a regional thing but GM got a terrible rep here when they were using aftermarket parts for repairs and not telling customers. Including issues with the plant thats here in southern ontario that was known to protect workers that were drinking on the job. One article was in the paper years ago about an owner having a rattle in his door continued to bring it to the dealer and they always said they couldnt find anything, so he took it in his hands to remove the door skin and see and sure enough found an empty micky in the door. Car was made at the Oshawa plant (one that was known for protecting drunks at work)

Its just shit like that why I woulnd't buy a GM, or their need to remove whole bumper to replace headlights idea they had years ago.
I already stopped going to one Toyota dealer because they dismissed everything as normal and lied to me. But the dealer i bought the truck from and which I now continue to service it from are great.

We have been experiencing a super cold spell here on the East Coast also. Temps below 0 F and wind chills of -25 F! Luckily I haven’t had any issues either with the cold but unfortunately some have. I just hope my differential drama lol is the biggest issue I have for many years. It was a pain in the ass having my truck gone for over a month.

Only bright moment. (though u can’t really call it that), is when I smacked a deer in the rental they gave me. At least it wasn’t my truck thank God. Some shit is just meant to b I guess.

It's intermittent and not reliable. At least on the early phones. I haven't tried it with my Note 8

This statement is made every year and then when the info comes out dead silence. This year I want to be the first. “My dealer told me no TRD Pro for 2019”

I have a very reliable inside source at Toyota.

Apparently because of the whole China steel price fixing thing, they are really hurting on materials costs for next year's models.
There is very serious talk about merging the Tacoma and Sienna product lines by taking the Siennas and chopping the back ends off to make the new Tacomas. They are going to look a lot like this:

Funny cuz I went and checked out some Raptors at a local Ford dealer and he said no Raptors next year, probably not until 2021
I just laughed at their 10k dealer mark up and walked out
