I have the front skid plate that I think you're talking about. It was on my truck when I bought it. Would I pay $200 of my own money for it? Probably not, I would buy a different brand - preferably something that is mounted better and is a higher quality material. The OEM one is pretty flimsy, but I don't really offroad ever so it fulfills it's purpose for me. Still wouldn't pay $200 for it though.

If it came with the truck when you bought it (this applies if it was brand new), then it was an extra option that you paid for in the total price of the truck for when you bought it.

I was going to get the front skid plate myself until I crawled under another truck that had it at the dealership...

I wasn't expecting the world for a couple hundred bucks, but damn they must have some incredible profit margins on those things!

Interesting comparo, you got my leaning towards Husky now. I like the idea of no holes. But I get why WT has holes (Probably keeps more snug?)

    Lol no problem. :D

I'm guilty of skimming often myself.

I went back and forth on Weathertec versus Husky, and eventually settled on the Husky mats. They fit great and do not move at all, are easy to take out and clean, and are much more durable than the factory all weather mats my truck came with. Those were showing heavy wear after 6-8 months. You will not be disappointed with either of these mats, they are both very well made.

I cast my vote for the huskies. You could spill multiple big gulps and not have to worry. They are like big buckets! It was annoying at first having to lift my feet up an extra inch when I climb in to clear the side of the mats but I got used it

Because those "holes" are used to lock the mats into the stock retainers.
