What's the craziest/most interesting/unique item you've ever hauled or towed with your Taco?

Was gonna give this microwave to @Gwyns04, but it wasn’t in the best shape (though it did allegedly work) and the scrapyard takes microwaves, so I chucked it...

 

The projector, the microwave, and all of this other stuff went to the scrapyard on Wednesday’s trip...

 

Today, I went over to our other location (where we build our airplanes) to see if they had any scrap, and they had plenty!

Yup, though on Tuesday a guy from the yard helped me...

 

What old A/C units? Unfortunately I haven’t gotten any of those, and everything I’ve scrapped this week is NAVMAR property so the money goes back to them; I’m getting paid to scrap it though!

 

I wish, but I’ve never worked for an A/C company; My dad is the vice president of NAVMAR Applied Sciences Corporation, which builds unmanned aerial vehicles for civil and military use. The president and CEO of the company got wind of the fact I’d gotten fed up with the detail shop and quit, and offered me a job at NASC in August 2019; With the exception of a 3-month furlough from March to June of 2020 due to COVID, I’ve been working here three days a week since then. In addition to getting paid $16.50 an hour to do whatever they need me to do at NASC, I also get a 401K and paid vacation time! This is in addition to the roughly $400-$500 a week I make from DoorDash...

 

Supposedly the final scrap run for a while...

 

We had those in school when l was young.

 

The old guy on the fork truck damaged my tailgate this morning when he was loading metal in. He had the forks stuck in some banding so l told him to hang on while l grabbed a knife, but instead he put the forks down on the tailgate and backed up. In the process the forks got stuck on a bolt that holds the tailgate cap on and bent it up, asked why he didn't wait for me and he said because he can't hear or see...

 

And they let him operate a forklift?!?!

Are they paying for the damage?

 

That was my exact response too, if he can't hear or see why in the hell is he on a fork truck. Unfortunately they said they are not responsible for any damages, l need a new tailgate cap, bolt, and retainer and can straighten the small bent metal base section.

 

How are they not responsible for any damage?

 

I guess they get away with a load at your own risk type of thing, he said store policy is not responsible.

 

With no bed mat cause I like to live dangerously

Perhaps milk is the new toilet paper and there’s gonna be a shortage of that this year...?
