    a lot lol
I dont think the clock is the best design ever but its better than alot of cars i have rode in. for example: my gf has a focus zx5 and her clock is in her stock head unit and its super small in the bottom right hand corner. my moms chrysler pacifica has a clock with hands like something you would hang on the wall. wtf? so if i have to tilt my head just a tad to see what time it is then im not complaining. ( i also have a nice aftermarket kenwood that displays it HUGE in my face. ) :)

I made quite a hit here.

NO the problem is not with the better radio but the fact that I don't know who, how or why the radio was put in so I stay away from them when buying used.

THEN there are the folks that want to remove these radios when selling them. They put the old stock radio back in and tell you that there is an electrical problem with the truck that they can't quite find. But it's no big deal and the dealer can probably find it and fix it easy.

Thats why it's I think it's an issue and why I won't buy one.

I don't need a radio that will rattle my windows, I just need one to listen to the news and music while I'm driving.

    BTW whats a HEAD UNIT??

The clock wasn't obscured so badly by the older-style 2-spoke steering wheel. This applies to pre-1995.5 'PreTacos' as well.

The newer-style 4-spoke steering wheels are the ones that effectively block line of sight to the clock.

I bet this happens all the time . Also did you notice how the people complaining about the clock were exaggerating about how they had to swerve in the next lane to look at the clock as well as other ridiculous comments. You need to calm down, take a few deep breaths and realize this thread was made all in fun.

+1. It is hidden, but I can still see it fine when I'm driving.

A head unit is a new radio.. just the radio, no subs.. no upgraded speakers.

Man I'm cool as a cucumber........

    I'm just stating facts.........

I looked for my truck for over a year for my truck. I found alot of yotas with replacement radios with problems. The owners think that it should increase the value of the truck by the $1000 that it cost them. Well it doesn't. Maybe $200 but, to me, it's not worth the problems that they cause.

It's the same with all these upgrads that people add.

    Wheels
    shocks
    lifts
    window tinting
    loud mufflersl
loud radiow with xtra large speakers that take up the whole back seat.

    These don't icrease the value.

The truck has these things from the factory. You shouldn't have to change them untill they are broken or don't work properly anymore.

    Thats all I'm saying.

Sorry for stepping on you post.

    Oh yeah,

"A head unit is a new radio.. just the radio, no subs.. no upgraded speakers."

That makes no sence to me.

Damn I must be a professional installer if I've never had any problems with my aftermarket head unit installs. I've put in more than I can count on 2 hands, not one has had issues. You must live in the ghetto.
They make aftermarket equipment for a reason... We understand you don't like it, but WE DO! :D

This ^ is good insight...sounds like Toyota changed the wheel w/o compensating for clock placement. Simple oversight = issue.

I'm 6'1" and my reg cab bench seat is all the way against the cab wall and I'm able to see my clock pretty well when driving. The only thing that comes close to blocking it is the wiper blade stalk. However, yes it's in a stupid location.
