Anyone have any experience yet if they fixed issues of previous years...stumbling throttle and transmission response, etc? Do the same TSBs apply? Any new issues?

So you are saying you need to get the TSBs done to fix the shifting issues? Or does it come with that software already installed?

Not sure, I have an 18 and the TSB is minimal difference. I was happy before and I’m happy now. Go drive one and decide if you like it.

TSBs are never installed unless the truck exhibits issues related to a TSB.

It isn’t a recall. No 2019s are coming off the lot with an update until/unless that truck needs it, and it doesn’t need anything until someone buys it, drives it, and complains.

All TSB's and recalls are applied during manufacture. If it is already at the dealer, recalls are fixed before sale but not TSB's. The reason being that not all vehicles need TSB's. Once you buy it, you may or may not need a TSB based on any problems or issues you may or may not have.

Got it, but Toyota could update the software on 2019s so the TSB is longer applicable. They obviously recognized there was a problem, just fix it in the new model and eliminate the problem.

They could. But they don’t, because not every truck manufactured needs the TSB, so the only one that’s get it are the ones that complain.

On the 2nd gen the rear leaf springs were a problem and a TSB was issued to replace them if you complained. Then in 2014 (I think that was the year) the new trucks came with the TSB spring installed from the factory. Just an example of what I'm saying.

Since applying the ECM TSB does no harm (probably some good) to vehicles that "might not" have shifting issues, I don't see why Toyota wouldn't just do that at the factory and avoid the customer complaints and dealership to to correct it.

That isn’t a software update, and it took Toyota 9 years to change production packs. ;)

    Believe whatever you want.

Exactly. A software update once it's written is a free thing. It costs no more or less to install. Springs had to procured, produced and distributed at a very big cost. A software update is a click of a button...done.
