I have the Sport on my 2010 long bed, double 4x. I don't believe the dealer offers the off-road on the long bed. Probably figure if your getting one you are actually looking to do serious 4 wheeling. Which I am not.. K

seriously though, the new 09-10 sr5s and base 4x4s with the new TRAC system are just as good as the TRD sports (minus the bells and whistles) and they are tons cheaper. they have the same suspension minus the trd billies which everybody swaps out anyway.

No. No rear locker in the sport. 4x4 sport and offroad would be equally capable in most situations, but a locked diff can make a world of difference in some offroad situations.

Only in Canada. Here in the US you can get either in either.

    Dang,
Wish I coulda got me a birthday present like that. Anyway, just got my 2010 last week. Toyota don't dicker too much. Best I could do was use my Costco membership which took off about 1800 from retail. Then I told the dealer that I was also working with another dealership which said they could beat the Costco deal. In the end I got about 2400 off retail for the long wheelbase double cab. I probably could have got a slightly better deal from the shortbed as there appear to be twice as many available. Anyway, dang happy with what I got. Good luck. K

    You make my head hurt.

Indeed - let your mother handle the situation, and pray to whatever deity you prefer that she takes the situation more seriously than you do.

If you plan to take a 4x2 in the dessert, I'd rather have the off-road with the locker than the sport without the locker. It's the next best thing to having 4wd. Both would be best but if mom is paying and is against a 4x4, then get the off-road. She won't know anything about what a locker is anyway.

IMHO its a toyota, weather its 4x4 or 4x2, locker or non-locker these trucks are amazing and can do things i never thought possible. I myself have the Dbl Cab sport and go out to the desert a lot and have only been stuck once, and that was my own fault for stopping then giving it gas in the soft sand. Other than that i have gone most places as the 4x4 or 4x2 with lockers. Most people were amazed that it wasnt a 4x4. cause most of my friends are. Mud, Snow been through it all. These trucks love to perform, and they do it very well. All i can say is Toyota's rock and i will never by a ford again.:D

I just don't know, but this repost question thing is rediculous... I think people just don't know how to properly search... you know with boolian operators and quotation marks. I know I'm relatively new to this site but it is sort of frustrating... I'm kind of tired of the 5000 Bilstein 5100 threads, the which TRD package, should I paint ***, WTT chrome bumper/grill/sport hood, 4WD vs 2WD, do I really need UCAs, etc etc
