While I was worried before, I'm a little more worried now because it sets even lower than I last thought. Although somehow I have never felt it bottom out. I feel like I'm using the sway bar as a spring now. :(

Okay now I have something to go off of, it looks like she's sitting at about 19 unloaded. How close is the bump stop supposed to be to the wishbone? It seems incredibly low but maybe that's just me?

The bump stop doesn’t look bad to me. I have the wheelers super bumps on mine and they’re super close. But they’re bigger bumps too.

If you want to keep it relatively stock, you can always buy a set of bilstein 5100 shocks, set the clip on the first notch which will raise your front end about an inch. You can reuse the stock springs.

Wow ok I totally thought my front springs were done haha. 190,000+ miles so I figured it was time.

I can see why people want a little lift now.

So what do these super bumps do? Better protection from hard drops?

Also... Any idea on comfort levels with the 5100s on the stock springs?

Correct me if I'm wrong... Does increased travel equal increased comfort/smoothness?

    1st notch is zero lift,
    2nd notch is 0.85
    3rd notch 1.75
    4th notch 2.5

    I thought.

Id go with new ome, or toytec coils and 5100s set to zero lift.

Superbumps are much taller than stock and offer progressive stiffening as they are compressed. Stock bumps are rock hard.

    Stock vs superbumps

Oh wow that sounds way better. While I generally don't do anything crazy I definitely like the idea of it being prepared. Although I think I will have to get a little bit of lift first because I'm pretty sure that wouldn't even fit in there right now haha.

    Thanks guys

You’re right. My bad, I can’t english today. I meant the first one up from “0” - meaning the second notch. Thanks for catching that.

OP if you have 190k on them, I’d replace the springs too. In that case, toytec or OME springs with the 5100s set at zero is a good start. Check with Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road, she’ll hook you up.

Yes I think I will do that. I've already ordered some Dakar leaves from them (pretty sure it was the same, my memory is trash). I just have to space things out so I don't go broke... Haha. The leaf springs were a priority because my current ones are just completely gone. They bottom out over anything and the axle wrap makes accelerating a nightmare.

So anyway with 5100s, which coils would you say give the most comfortable ride? Is there Trade off between the toytec and ome? Like one is better at A but worse at B. Etc

Is there any comparison between these, the ome, and toytec?

I was going to go with the toytec but they are currently out of stock. I have heard good things about headstrong so I decided to order from them.

Looks like the toytec coils are back in stock. They provide 1.5” of lift while the HS coils give you 2”. They are only $150 shipped as well.

1" lift from 3rd gen suspension, 265/75/16 ATs
OP: If you have 190k on your shocks any new shocks with ride like a dream.

Depending how much you want to spend, look into 3rd gen TRD suspension, either TRD OffRoad Bilsteins or TRD Sport Hitachis. These will give you about 1" of lift up front over stock 2nd gen suspension. So you should be sitting right around 21" hub to fender up front since stock 2nd gen is around 20". Maybe even 1/4" higher since your are lighter 2wd V6.

Also there was about '287' people that just recently bought the discontinued 2nd gen TRD PRO Bilstein kit and probably at least half were 3rd gen guys so there should be a fresh supply of low mile or virtually new take off suspensions. These go for anywhere between $150-250 for front coilovers and rear shocks and sometime even UCAs are included. Point is, front is already assembled, so just a bolt on affair, no messing with spring compressor or paying someone to do that for even more savings.

Bilstein 5100 would technically be an upgrade, seems like Headstrong would be the go to place for these. OME883 coils with 5100 set @ 0 will also give you about 1" - 1 1/4" lift up front.

Toytec (eibach) coils come in 2 different ranges and weights i believe.
