My heaviest load so far was with 1,100 lbs of hardwood flooring in the box & pulling a trailer loaded with two 3,000 to 3,500 lb pallets of stone for a total trailer & load weight of 8250 to 9250 lbs. My total load weight (in the box & pulling) for that trip up & down Pennsylvania hills was somewhere between 9,350 & 9,550 lbs. The truck handled the weight very well.

Some new pics for this thread.

Had an 11'000lb 40' park model on the truck the other day, didn't even sag the back very much!

Also towed a v12 jag last week, she was a heft one!

I think I may have been a bit over my load limit with this big old John Deer too!

Don't know if this counts... It was a customer's maxum. probably close to 4000-5000 with gas, boat and trailer.

I'm actually a little embarrassed...i tow my 24' sport cruiser (4200#) plus trailer...plus gear...and when the boat is topped off....i was up over 5200 from VA to SC. not cool.
Truck handles it fine, no trans issues at 60K.
worse, a pallet of paver stone had me hurting this w/e. guys at lowes thought it was going to hit the pavement. taco handled it fine.
However, i need to AAL asap.
While i'm here: who's added max towing capability with minimal/no lift and how'd you do it?

towed a bobcat T190 track loader and a 20 ft dual axle trailer. About 7500lbs or so. Tongue weight was fine, no real sag and the trailer had surge brakes so that helped. Definitely wouldn't go any long distance with that. Was only about 4 miles.

My brother's 1st gen was loaded to about an inch from rubbing 285's. If I can find some pictures ill post.
EDIT: He has a 2" spacer and AAL on it. NVM. It didn't sag as much as I thought.... There was about 20-30 bags of rocks a pallet of stone, shovels, rakes, PVC pipe. All this was from lowes. It was saggin so much we actually had to take some of the bags out of the back of the truck and put them behind the pallet of stone on the trailer.
    Here are the pics.

I have a 2012 TRD Off Road with the tow package and it towed around 8000 pounds of round bales(hay). Definitely felt that behind there

I got a powerstroke for the heavy stuff. This is the only thing I've had behind the tacoma so far. I dont know what it weighs exactly, but its pretty light.

ONLY access cabs with the 4.0 v6 can tow 6500, the double cab short bed can tow 6400 and the dc long bed can tow 6300, at least according to the toyota website. it doesn't look like it matters if prerunner or 4x4. surely that's gotta matter though, because of the extra components weight of 4x4.

My DCSB is still rated for 6500 according to my owners manual. I want to say the DCSB DCLB and 4x4's have a lower payload but the towing capacity is the same.

i dont know exactly how much this is. but with 3 guys, a bed full of gear, and the boats loaded with gear i am guessing 2000-3000lbs. the truck pulled it fine, i got 17 mpg going up, and 18.8 mpg on the way home.
