Option A: I drove my 2k for 10 years and almost 300k miles and the only reason I bought a new tacoma was that I wanted 4wd. Now that I have 4wd, I can't see a reason to buy another until reliability becomes a problem.

Keep it until the engine drops to the ground from a bad frame. Would love to one day go full LT though, so possibly just a weekend toy after awhile.

I'm one of the few option B people. I'm selling it in 6-12 months and going to a full-size. I need the room and towing/hauling. And I don't off-road. It's been a good truck though.

Haha yeah, that would be nice. Three vehicles would be a little ridiculous. My dad is seriously considering buying the Tacoma, so at least it would stay in the family. Then I could buy it back at some point and keep it as a beater and/or future kid's vehicle.

I have logged 50k on it since I bought it and I plan to DD it for another 50k then retire it for just around the house type of chores and get a fuel efficient car to drive daily

I still do half my driving in my '89 Trooper RS w/350,000+ miles on it, if that's any indicator of future behavior.

    A. Running it forever until it dies (barring any major maintenance cost that makes it not worth it after a certain point)

I hate the entire process of buying a vehicle and will avoid it as long as possible.:)

Even though I am more of the kind that trades in every few years my current plan is to drive it til it blows. My real plan is to pay it off and get something new and mod the ever loving crap out of it when I have a second car. I'm hoping in the next few years I'll be able to afford another GTI. I missed mine ever since I traded it in so I'm working on getting another one. When that day happens I will start dumping money into the taco

I'm in category A for the second time.
I set up my 09 for the long haul and planned to drive it for another 10 years when it was totaled last winter, it felt like a death in the family.
Now that I've got 15K on my 13 I'm about to pick up a gas sipping commuter car and get a solid 15 years out of the Taco. The car will be for work and the truck will be for fun.
