Cant say with a 3rd gen but i towed a 23ft 5300lb boat with a 1st gen for about 60 miles. And towed a 30ft 9800lb boat for about 17 miles with my 2nd gen. V6 in both. They did fine

Oh you will be 100% fine dont worry about something that light. These trucks are severely underrated by toyota i think

What is the point ? When I was a teenager , my buddy and I towed a 4500# fiberglass boat with a Datsun B210 car for a few years of fishing . Comical but it worked .

A couple weeks ago I towed a 12' x6' U-Haul box trailer loaded with 2000lbs of weight over 2 mountains and up 10km of a pretty rough logging road. total weight was a little over 4000lbs. My 17 DCSB OR did just peachy! It wasn't till I tried to back up a 200m paved driveway, at a 20° incline, that I had issues. Although I think the weight was closer to 5000 at that point.

Depending on model and options. Check your owners manual as this is the highest rating I believe for a 3rd gen. I know my OR is rated for 6500lbs.

I don’t get questions like “what is the max someone has towed”. The truck is rated at a certain weight as well as tongue weight. Exceeding these numbers may void your warrantee if there is structural damage and may make you liable in the case of an accident. In the case of an accident you may be found responsible for financial damages and if injury or death is a result you may be found criminally responsible resulting in jail time.

Removed and transported about 800 square feet of tile, grout and cement board. Not sure how much it weighs, but it brought bed down to the max. Left it for 12 hours then took it to work, then a dumpster. Everything turned out fine.

16’ food trailer. 6000+ pounds with 800+ pounds on the tongue depending on propane and fresh water tank levels. Timbren system, e load 265/75/16 and trailer brake system and it handles the weight very well. The look on the trailer builders eyes was priceless when I unloaded all 800 pounds onto the tongue and the truck squated maybe 3/4 inch. The timbren system is incredible. Average 10 mpg when towing isn’t all that bad in my opinion.
