If anything, yes. That. The feature is the feature. If you can’t clear it, then you suck, your tires are too small, and you should be shamed online.

The people who preach “leave no trace” Typically go overboard with it. I’m not going to dump lithium ion batteries in a lake, litter, or defoliate Yellowstone. I am however going to piss and shit like an animal, because I am one, and dig holes for my dinner fire.

I saw a one of these snowflakes screaming at a poor beaver for making a dam at eagle lake. He was like “THIS IS EVERYONES LAKE AND WE HAVE TO PRESERVE IT FOR OUR CHILDREN HOW DARE YOU BUILD A DAM! LEAVE NO TRACE!!!” ...I watched as hero beaver continued to do animal shit.

IF people dont want 35s on those trails, they better have 1/4 steel skids from bamf. because they will need them

You never do know. We were out training on the backside of Ft. Lewis when we rolled up on some guys with a meth lab. I was just a young guy back then. Boss had us turn around and called the MPs. We might’ve had several machine guns (m249s, m240Bs) and couple dozen M4s BUT we also only had blanks.

Like you said, lots of crazies and you never do know.

Def bs about leaving all those casings too. Just clean up after yourself, it’s not that hard.

LOL. How many rigs have you worked on to fit 35's? If your stepping up to a SAS you'd better damn well plan on 40's. Lot's of guys run 35's and wheel the shit out of their IFS rigs. To say that driving skills can make up for lack of ground clearance is a joke. Unless you like stacking rocks and winching for hours on end.

    Agreed.

Not sure if that guy is a fantastic troll or not. Almost always has the same posts and REALLY likes his truck.

At least he knows his lift size now.

Whatever guy yeah I get you. You wouldn't be doing remote Alaskan trails with anything less than 40s.

Max Powell is always breaking his axles because he has extended shafts. also, he has a front air locker IIRC. Not because he has 35s. Yes, the amount of stress with 35s is usually more, but very few people account for the fact that most people with 35s that use them push their trucks farther than someone with 33s, because they can.

Hey, there are advantages and disadvantages for whatever decisions you make. All of the bashing kills me. Why not embrace choice? I use my rigs and I like the looks and performance of 35’s. I’ve wheeled with stock Tacoma’s that have had little to no issue figuring out how to navigate the same trails I have been on...that said, they usually use a different line and sometimes maxtrax, etc but they were out there having fun enjoying themselves with the rest of us. Get off of the f**king high horse and support your brothers and sisters and encourage them to get out and enjoy their rigs. For those of you ready to argue with my statement... your comments are welcome and YOU ARE WELCOME FOR YOUR FREEDOMS TO MAKE SAID STATEMENTS. (If any of this offends you... you are probably the @sshole I’m referencing)

Taking the easy line, I got this on 33s. I had 35s installed today.

Most of the time, broken CVs are the result of people who don't have any clue what they are doing..... Not because of 35s or front lockers.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

It's enough, depending on what you do. 33s apparently don't fit what I do on the 5% of gnarly stuff. 33s carried me to completion, albeit my driveshaft was offered as tribute.

See, the difference between TW and other forums that I frequent are large.

I post in the other place, just got gears done to 5.29, going to order 315s. Nobody argues the merits of 35s, I instead get told to buy 37s. Here its the opposite.

I'm incremental in my mods. I wheeled the crap out of my 33s and found the limiting factor to be their diameter. I'm sure the next step will be gearing, but I'll determine how far I'll go with them. Give it 12 months and I'll be eyeballing 37+ or SAS, but I work incrementally.

I get what you're saying, but I'm doing mods off what I do. I keep getting reminders that I need more because I push not only my limits, but my setup's limits. Good times and I enjoy it.

Im honestly long term eyeing the Marlin Crawler RCLT set up with new steering rack, and going to 40s. Absolutely no point to go SAS on a 3rd gen when that comes out. RCLT is fucking space magic

Granted, it really is beautiful. For a DD taco that gets wheeled hard, I think 35s max, then SAS that bish and go hard as you can. The stock parts are at their limit at 35s, so for off-road reliability go big or go home.
